Leo Mondragon, better known as DJ Dragon, is a dynamic force in the world of music, known for blending Latin rhythms with global sounds to create unforgettable experiences on and off the stage. His journey began in 1999 in Jacksonville, Florida, where his passion for music ignited a career that continues to evolve and inspire.
Before making his mark in the music industry, Leo proudly served in the United States Navy for ten years, enlisting in 1996. His time in the military, marked by multiple deployments and an honorable discharge, instilled in him a sense of discipline, resilience, and service that now flows through every aspect of his professional life.
A seasoned performer, DJ Dragon has opened for industry icons like DJ Live from BET’s 106 & Park and DJ Eskimo, and brought down the house at events such as the Freestyle Music Awards. He’s held popular residencies at Florida hotspots including Paradome, Club 21, and The Real Ting Café, building a loyal following with his high-energy sets and versatile style.
As the founder of Latin Roots Radio, Leo has created a platform that celebrates the full spectrum of Latin music—from salsa and bachata to soca, reggae, and reggaeton. The station also provides opportunities for local businesses to advertise, helping bridge music, culture, and commerce.
